Aunt Seesa visits....

Well, what can I say? We had a fabulous time when Sarah visited us in Denver. Avie was happy to see her Aunt Seesa (much to Sarah's liking as the last trip to the airport a year ago was unforgettable!) Avie was a little tentative (as all toddlers are unless you are the parent and sometime even if you are the parent!) but she warmed up real quick and was laying horizontal on top of Sarah before the day was through. The next day we decided to go hiking in the foothills which was great. We went to Dakota Ridge (near Redrocks) with Avie on my back and John had Jimbo in tow. We were lucky we decided to go Sat. because the weather was pretty crappy on Sun....Which leads me to the dog show. I could go on forever about the dog show but I would take up this whole blog page. I don't know what was more incredible. the people or the dogs. We saw some amazing Irish Wolfhounds.. they are massive and so gentle at the same time. I can see why they are regarded as "gentle giants" It also explains alot to me about Jimbo. and how could I not mention the little boy and his dog "Tommy". We were all crowded around this little "toy poodle" staring in amazement. Was this dog really a 'show dog' ?! I think the rubber band holding his hair out of his eyes was the dead give away. (an imposture for sure) What was totally amazing was, while we were staring at Tommy the toy poodle, we almost missed....... the father. he had the most unbelievable mullet you have EVER seen. (John, no offense but this was WAY better than your's) I will also mention he wore a tie set ablaze with a sun and bald eagle. truly a specimen. As Sarah pointed out, he was a nice man..just, I wish I had a camera. needless to say, we had a great time and one for the memory books.. We ate lots of good food,(not at the dog show) we drank LOTS of good wine (one was a malbec from Argentina) and had a great weekend adoring every move Avie made!
