whoops!

Today Avie and I went to the Golden Rec. center to go swimming. I decided to change Avie before we left the house as it is always a challenge to change her in public restrooms. (she totally freaks when I try lay her on a baby changing table. and for good reason. those things are nasty) Anyhow, this brings me to the point of my story. We get in the pool which was a lovely 95 degrees. I am gliding Avie around in the pool working on her kicking and she keeps pointing to the slide. So, we go over to the shallow part of the pool (about 1 ft deep) and I notice how cute Avie looks waddling in the water. Hey, wait a minute. Why does her butt look so big? and then I suddenly realize. crap, I forgot to put on her swim diaper. (her butt looks like a water balloon) Of course all she wants to do is climb up the slide exposing her butt to the lifeguards and other mothers in the pool. I casually whisk her up and grab her towel which was poolside. lucky!!!

I you papa

Hello again..Hope everyone is enjoying their day. Avie is sleeping which is probably what she will always be doing while I am writing in this blog. So, she finally said I love you and we caught it on video! thought you would all like to hear. We had a good day, although she wanted to play instead of taking a much needed nap! We started the day with going to the grocery store and then went for a walk at the park. A good day! Love, Becca

Aunt Seesa visits....

Well, what can I say? We had a fabulous time when Sarah visited us in Denver. Avie was happy to see her Aunt Seesa (much to Sarah's liking as the last trip to the airport a year ago was unforgettable!) Avie was a little tentative (as all toddlers are unless you are the parent and sometime even if you are the parent!) but she warmed up real quick and was laying horizontal on top of Sarah before the day was through. The next day we decided to go hiking in the foothills which was great. We went to Dakota Ridge (near Redrocks) with Avie on my back and John had Jimbo in tow. We were lucky we decided to go Sat. because the weather was pretty crappy on Sun....Which leads me to the dog show. I could go on forever about the dog show but I would take up this whole blog page. I don't know what was more incredible. the people or the dogs. We saw some amazing Irish Wolfhounds.. they are massive and so gentle at the same time. I can see why they are regarded as "gentle giants" It also explains alot to me about Jimbo. and how could I not mention the little boy and his dog "Tommy". We were all crowded around this little "toy poodle" staring in amazement. Was this dog really a 'show dog' ?! I think the rubber band holding his hair out of his eyes was the dead give away. (an imposture for sure) What was totally amazing was, while we were staring at Tommy the toy poodle, we almost missed....... the father. he had the most unbelievable mullet you have EVER seen. (John, no offense but this was WAY better than your's) I will also mention he wore a tie set ablaze with a sun and bald eagle. truly a specimen. As Sarah pointed out, he was a nice man..just, I wish I had a camera. needless to say, we had a great time and one for the memory books.. We ate lots of good food,(not at the dog show) we drank LOTS of good wine (one was a malbec from Argentina) and had a great weekend adoring every move Avie made!

A way to keep in touch

So for those of you that think this is a pretty unlikey thing that I would do..you are right! But, this is my attempt to keep up to date in our daily (ok maybe weekly) adventures. I have never had a blog before (blogs were created way after my college years) but since I don't have a cell phone of my own I feel the need to be somewhat "with it" Ok, mostly this is for the grandparents because no one else really cares what peaches is up to on a daily basis! So here we are and welcome to my new blog. Why did I name it "its ok peaches"? Its just a funny lil thing that Avie keeps saying when she drops something on the floor, as if to encourage herself.. I think it's kind of nice and alas the blog....
